Brand New SSL-2

Normally you could check with magnets to place them together with the tops facing each other. If they repel, they have the same magnet polarity. Sorry if it's too obvious.
 
Right - I misunderstood. My next idea is to use a magnetic compass. If the north pointer on the compass is attracted by the top of the poles, then its South magnetic polarity which is standard for SSL-2. I expect that's what you have got, because the RW/RP have it printed on the label.
