Hey Kids,

Just finished this song, Rhode Island Red. Not a typical Kev track. No SOLO anywhere! I am a huge Joe Walsh fan, along with The Who. This tune reflects those influences.

Features the always amazing Rikki Davenport on drums. A good friend, Dan Mackenzie played the piano on this one, love the vibe he created with it! I also have to offer huge props to Mr. Robert "Inndreamrecords.co" Michaels for creating the fabulous spacey synth sounds in the middle section. I had been fighting with it for a long time, his mojo was exactly what was needed! I handled the rest of the noise... It was a really fun track to put together..

That alien synth is a crucial bit of color that was missing. A guitar solo just did not feel right on that one.... Thanks again!

Re: Brand spankin new tune. Rhode Island Red

this is very cool

definitely hear The Who flavour - the piano gives it excellent "2nd focus"

your drummer is so kick azz it isnt even funny - the bassist added some very cool lines as well

the synth textures really do open up another dimension that adds to the total impact nicely

is there a certain 'lo fi' production quality giving the entire track an old school aura as well?

anyway, tres happenin' as always even if i did miss you tearin' it up a bit :D ...

I will tell the bassist thanks! Wait, it was me! So thank you!

I really try to mix things looser these days. I want it to sound a bit old, I love maintaining the organic feel of a live performance.
