Breed (neck) on bridge position..

Re: Breed (neck) on bridge position..

hey there! it sounds great.a real hidden gem of a pickup for dimarzio.it is perfectly described on their website as "a slightly hotter, fatter paf pro".i had the paf pro originally in the bridge position of my '91 ibanez rg565.it was also a really nice pickup, but in this guitar, being a basswood body & all maple neck,i needed just a little more bottom end for chugging.the breed neck-model in the bridge hit the spot!!! it's in the 10.25k rating area,so it definately has the open paf vibe but enough overwind to give it a slightly modern-ish crunch.very, very clear pup, great harmonics, tight bass, smooth mids, singing highs and grinds nicely on the low end...i really recommend it!!!

Re: Breed (neck) on bridge position..

I tried one - it was pretty darned open, had big bass...REALLY big bass, in my axe (SG), but the highs were too hot & brittle for me...I tried lowering the high E & B poles all the way & that tamed it some, also tried tone knob but it was not balancing well with the neck PU - definately use it in a guitar with some natural mids. I have a couple clips where I'm goofing around a bit here.
