Breed vs. Air Zone?

How do these two bridge pickups compare? differ? They'd be going into an alder body, bolt-on maple neck axe with probably a PAF Pro in the neck.

Re: Breed vs. Air Zone?

Breed will be a little fatter, little cruncier in upper-mids - it was designed for Vai to use in an RG and sound as fat as a Les Paul. Air Zone would be a little less output and more low mids, little darker I would guess. Breed would be a good match with PAF Pro but you would have to play with pickup height to get a good balance.

Had a buddy who had Breeds in a mahogany RG 7string and I have not found anything as crunchy thru my DSL50 as that guitar - it was amazing wiked nice sound... :13:

Iv got a Breed n in the bridge of one of my Dean Vendettas and it honks, hard. A bit hotter than the PAF Pro, good sustain and great harmonics, overall a a killer metal pup.
