What the reputation of korean made brian moore guitars? I am looking at a IM series with seymour duncan pickups, how do they play? are they good quality?
im told it has really nice action.

please any comments are appreciated

Re: Brian Moore Guitars?

they make some awesome guitars, very under rated, but im not biased or anything :)
I have a USA model, but the Korean models are wonderful instruments.

Re: Brian Moore Guitars?

i have a korean brian moore (i88.13) .. i upgraded to SD pickups (AIIP in the neck and JB in the bridge) ... and i upgraded to sperzel tuners ... and i upgraded the switching to a P-type mega switch ... it plays like a dream and is amazingly versatile ... in fact, it is my number 1 guitar because of the synth and piezo ...

which model are you looking at? ... they can usually be had for a very competitive price

good luck

Re: Brian Moore Guitars?

I had a USA model that was fantastic & tried a Korean one that was great.

I like the LP version....the i2.13p

Re: Brian Moore Guitars?

the guy isnt sure but its got gold sperzel locking tuners, three sd pups the alnico II hum and single and JB bridge. He says he paid $1600 second hand so im guessing its a relitively top model. its strat shape and is in cherry sunburst.

Re: Brian Moore Guitars?

I have an I9 (Korean) and it's a great guitar. The last that I knew, all of the imports were first checked for quality control in thier New York plant and any problems were corrected before distribution. The neck is awfully thin for my tastes, but I can live with it considering what I payed for it. It came with a JB in the bridge and an Alnico II Pro in the neck and I've left well-enough alone.

I'm not sure whether what I'm saying in correct, but with that kindda dough I could afford a Brian moore custom instead of the Korean made one =)
And its better

I played both the American made and the Korean made guitars, and there just wasn't enough difference in tone to justify the difference in price, IMO. With the import, I still got the Sperzels, the SD's, the curly maple top (granted, it's a very thin veneer) and a hardshell case. Usually, I would be a total snob when it comes to imports, but not in this case. There just wasn't enough of a difference for me.

Re: Brian Moore Guitars?

and let me add, they are INCREDIBLE on customer service ... very nice, laid back, 'bend over backwards to help' kinda guys

an H-S-H setup rocks (i9) ... that price sounds very high to me for a korean model (hell, it is essentially MSRP !!!!) ... i bet you could get a NEW i9 for less than that

be careful of your 'friend'

Re: Brian Moore Guitars?

but I gotta admit that the korean made Brian Moore guitars are superbly done that I couldn't tell the difference

Re: Brian Moore Guitars?

i "owned" a Brian Moore i1...which sounds exactly like the one you are looking at...it was extremely well built!

here's a pic...i sold it to forum member CaptainCrunch.

Re: Brian Moore Guitars?

unfortunately the guy who is selling it wont answer my calls or reply to the many text messages i have sent him, i fear he has sold it. But i will sure as hell look out for another Brian Moore guitar or go out and buy a new one, the price doesnt seem too high for the quality and beauty of the guitars im seeing.
