Bridge Duncan for my Epiphone Alleykat

Hi!

Usually I´m not the guy who does make any changes on his guitars...
The Alleykat is great sounding but the only weakness, I think, are the pickups. Does anyone here has experience with Duncan pickups on a hollowbody like the Alleykat? I´ve read about the SH-4 here in the forum,
any other experiences? The kind of sound I´m looking for is basically that Les Paul-similar-semihollow sound with a bit more output and brightness since I`m using the Epi for my hard rock band (I do the Malcolm job ;-)

Thank you!

Joppe

I'm partial to the Seth Lover model at the bridge of a semi. The Phat Cat is also a really cool pickup to try in a semi if you don't mind the noise.

Look into a set of TV Jones pups or a set of Duncan Custom Shop Filtertrons

Re: Bridge Duncan for my Epiphone Alleykat

yeah if you want the Mal sound, go for the TV jones or filertons......... that would be sweet if you got the dough

Re: Bridge Duncan for my Epiphone Alleykat

I'd just like to say you have a really nice guitar that's on my wish list ...

It's the one with the Mini-hum at the neck right? (Love those Epiphones ... not as open sounding as I'd like but they are pretty sweet non the less)

Tanks a lot!

I love this guitar and i´ll go for the Seth Lovers since they promise that warm
but still classic rocksound.
I´ll let the forum know if they fit my kat!

:smoker:

Re: Bridge Duncan for my Epiphone Alleykat

...one seth lover of course...won´t cut out the hole in the neck position til the lover fits in ;-)

Re: Bridge Duncan for my Epiphone Alleykat

It should fit at the bridge, but you need a LP Deluxe style or Firebird minihumbucker. The SM-1 works well as far as Firebird pickups go, or you can call the Custom Shop and have them wind you a LP Deluxe style mini to match the Seth.
