Bridge hot stack between P-rails?

I'm in the process of installing P-rails (not hot) with triple shots in my strat. Would like to put a hot stack in the middle wired to a series/parallel push-pull. I would like it to be lower off the strings than normal. Would the bridge version allow this while keeping up with the P-rail. I can't seem to find any reviews of the hot stack in parallel mode. My idea was to find pickup balance with all in series AND P-rail in parallel/p-90/rail with hot stack in parallel. With the hot stacks not being as hot as their numbers suggest, i wonder if a bridge version would do the trick.

Welcome to the Forum!

If you are lowering it more than normal because it gets in the way of picking, I can understand using the bridge version (some Strats I have use lowered bridge pickups in the middle and they balance fine). If it is not because you want to just get it out of the way, I'd recommend the neck version. It has plenty of power. I haven't tried any Hot Stack in parallel, though.

Thanks for answering Mincer, yes it is to get it out of the way. If I did use the bridge version, would I want tie it in to a tone control? I had thought of using a 500k tone pot for each of the P-rails and a master 500k volume pot. Any suggestions welcome as you folks know way more about these things than me.

Re: Bridge hot stack between P-rails?

I would start with 500k tone controls to add a little 'glass' to the hot stack, which is not as chimey as a normal-output single coil. If it is too bright, switch it to 250k. Also, I always use a tone control on the bridge. Some people don't like it, but to me, it takes the edge off the pickup.
