Looking to replace the bridge pickup on my 2015 American Strat. Neck and Middle are Fat 50s with modified pole heights. The tone is great with my amp (VHT Special 6 Ultra). I play for myself in my living room only, and occasionally for some fun office karaoke. No gigging for real.
I'd like to go humbucker on the bridge, mostly because of the noise in the signal in my house. Right now I get tons of strat hum when using only one pickup with high gain. Plus I'm kind of just curious about what a humbucker could sound like - always loved the LP/Plexi sound in classic rock, though I love the classic Strat sound I have now as well.
Looking at the Cool Rails to match with the Fat 50s, but there appear to be many other options with similar tonal profile - Lil 59s, Lil Screamin Demon, Vintage Rails, etc. Not sure which is the best choice, and which could cause weird issues due to mismatched output, etc.
Anyone have any recommendations on what would work best with the Fat 50s?
