Bridge Pickup for Ibanez Custom Agent (70s LP Copy)

Hey, I just got an Ibanez Custom Agent. It's a 70s Les Paul Copy with lots of fancy inlays. The top is Birch??? and the headstock has fancy scrolls like an old Gibson mandolin. It sounds a little middier than a Les Paul, but pretty refined, with good sustain.

It's got the stock Super 70s pickups, which are weak and microphonic. What should I put in the bridge? I like a clear, forceful sound without a lot of garbage in the mids. It doesn't need to be scooped sounding, but I do want clear, uncolored mids. I've always been a single coil guy, so any humbucker will seem powerful to me. I also can tolerate a bit more treble than some people.

I want good strong cleans that aren't overly humbuckery. For overdrive, I guess Jimmy Page & early AC/DC (splitting the difference between Angus & Malcolm) are benchmarks. Anything more than that, and I'll just pile on the fuzz & could be playing anything. I've reached the point in my playing where I sound like me through a Tone Zone or a Strat bridge pickup, but I want a pickup that can translate some of the mojo of an old, set neck guitar.

59? A2P? Virtual PAF? I was also thinking of a Dimarzio PAF Pro because it would look so 70s with the rest of the guitar. $$$ is an issue.

checkout some bare knuckle pickups.....with seymour duncan i would say alnico two pros....59's....pearly gates....custom 78.... "bro bucker"....if you can deal with a little high output a custom or custom custom. All of thes have a great pafish vibe...wth their own unique spins on the design... with the brobucker probably being closer to what you want and the 78....both of which are from the custom shop....but this would be money well spent my freind

I will. I was planning to keep them in initially. They have the old Ibanez logo on the metal covers. But they don't perform that well with distortion.

I should change my screen name to threadkiller. Here's what a Custom Agent looks like, by the way...

Mine's got gold plated humbuckers and freakier knobs.
