Bridge pickup in neck position?

Right, In another thread I was saying how i want to stick a singlecoil in the neck of a hum-hum guitar, which came down to either a phat cat or a stag mag - probably the stag mag as I am not too sure on the sound of the phat cat (if it contrasts enough with the bridge pickup - a custom)

problem being the stag mag only seems to come as a bridge pickup, so how would it sound if i put it in the neck position? would it make no real difference, or would it sound horrible?

I think Duncan would do good to sell the Stag Mag as an either/or type thing. I've always prefered the SM in the neck. Got one in the neck of my Tele as we speak. Its a nice, clear, clean pup, that splits to become even cleaner and clearer.

The SM is a great neck pup. (Better than the bridge, some might say.)

Edit: As I posted that, a little light went on in my head. Duncan has now added the fact that it works great in the neck to the SM's product description.

This is the sound... Stag Mag in the neck. I think that a lot of people that buy the Jazz neck may perfer/or really be looking for something closer to the Stag Mag in the neck. Enless they are really looking for a real Jazz PU... then they might be better off with a AlnicoIIn! LOL
