Hello everyone, I'm a newcomer to this nice forum.

I want to install a HB to go with middle and neck Fender Custom Shop 69. I am inclined to go with Seymour Duncan JB Jr. Anyone know about these combination? The Jb Jr will vastly outclass the CS69's? Any other recomendation?

Thanks everybody!

welcome to the forum!

the jbjr will be much louder than the cs69, if that is good or not is up to you

I'd recommend either the single coil sized versions of the Screamin Demon or the Pearly Gates. Either one will be much better at maintaining volume balance with the 69's than the JB Jr. will.

Really appreciate all the good advices.

The quarter pound is too strong for the cs69's also? maybe the the ssl-5 is a more balanced choice!

Thanks everybody

The Quarter Pound is more of a P90 tone as opposed to a humbucker or traditional single coil. I think it could work in the bridge.

the ssl5 is a fine choice and works well with vintage output neck and middle pups. the qp doesnt sound like a p90 to me but its a thick sounding high output single coil. more output and bass than the ssl5 with a less open high end. a very cool pup for rock but not as versatile as the ssl5

Another choice is the Antiquity Custom bridge. It matches really well with the CS69's . I've tried SSL3, SSL5 and SSL6 and the Antiquity sounds like it belongs there but with higher output that doesn't overpower the CS69'S.

I would also say the Antiquity, or Seth bridge. If you wanted to install a push/pull you could use a hotter humbucker and have the ability to split it to even out the output with the 69's.

I use the Alnico 2 Pro single coil with my 69s. A great match volume wise and warm enough to not be icepicky bit still glassy enough to sound like a strat. Kill noise with the Ilitch backplate.
