bridge pickup

I've got a 86 japanese strat with kinmans in the neck and middle and a hotrails in the bridge. I really don't like the hotrails so much anymore. I had a JB JR in one of my teles and love the sound but on this strat I'd like for all the pickups to look stock. I have the stock covers over them. The JB JR will really stand out. Anyone know of a similar pickup disguised to look more traditional?

Re: bridge pickup

The Quarter Pound staggered looks different but at least it's in the ballpark. The JB jr and other rails sound the way they do because of the side by side series construction. It's hard to get that from a single coil or a stack.

Other "fattened up" bridge singles include the Dimarzio SDS-1, which is a Ceramic base single with adjustable poles (still not totally traditional looking) and the Duncan Hot Strat or Custom. Both of those are more "hot single coil" than humbuckerish. Lindy Fralin and the SD Custom Shop make some base magnet singles that are kind of like a little P90 jammed in there. Fralin calls them Steel Poles I think, and I can't remember what the Custom Shop calls it. There's no photo on the new web page yet.

Re: bridge pickup

The VV Solo is noiseless, hot, and traditional looking. It's closer to a P90/strat mix than a 'bucker, but with some knob fiddling, it'll do hard rock with no problem.
