Do any old bridge pins fit any old acoustic bridge? I want to replace the el-cheapo black plastic bridge pins in my Taylor 214 to a new set of ebony w/ pearloid dot ones (I think... I'm still between Ivroid and wood also).
The problem is, I don't know one type from another. Taylor themselves sell bridge pins on their site, but they only have the ones I currently have and ebony w/ abalone dots. The abalone's wouldn't fit with my guitar look-wise (as my fret markers are just pearloid), so I'm not going to get these. Stew-Mac sells bridge pins, but heck-if-I-know if they'll fit right. The specs for those are 5 degree taper and .07" string slot (they're slotted on my guitar)
While we're at it, I'll throw up a poll for which type of bridge pin ya'll think will compliment the guitar's looks the best
you can see the options here under the slotted column: http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges.../Acoustic_Guitar_Bridge_Pins_and_Endpins.html
