ok gents, i appreciate all the ideas and info.
turns out the 36th is probably going back into my strat's bridge position. i swapped it out for a beefy single coil, but i really do miss the humbucker and that was by far the best i've tried for that application.
i found a set of PRS Dragon I's, and i'm going to give them a shot. they seem to be held in pretty high regard, and i like the idea of the high output bridge position. i might throw some covers on them at some point, too. me thinks that the Akesson is going to slay with these in there...
