Are there any electric guitar bridges where the string ends attach directly to the saddles?

Re: Bridge string attachment

...A Floyd?

Single or double-locking for that matter depending on how you define the "end," as with a ball or without.

Re: Bridge string attachment

Ibby has the edges where you just stick the ball into the saddles and clamp the string.
Also GHS used to make the lock-end Boomers with a squarish thing instead of balls on the end (for OFR),,,,,,,they might still make them, not sure.

Re: Bridge string attachment

Well, the strings don't actually connect directly to the saddles in those...they still connect to the bridge and only wrap over the saddles.

As much as any other does

There are some individual saddles the bolt directly to the body
But those are through body mounts

The Tele style bridge has strings mounting directly back from the saddles

If directly attached , what then to do with the ball and the twist that holds the ball

You don't want that floppin round while your playin
