bright CC?

Hi,

a couple of weeks ago I installed a CC and PG (neck) in my ESP Horizon (alder body with maple neck-through body). PG is very nice and warm (but a lot of bass!?) but the CC is somewhat disappointing. It's tight with enough of crunch for it's purposes I guess but it's very bright compared to the PG. I didn't have that impression listening to the soundclips on the SD site.
Could this be because of the 500k pots? (but then again, PG sounds full enough...)

thanks

Re: bright CC?

I can't help you with your question, sorry, but I can tell you that the PG is usually the bright one and the CC usually the bassier one, hehe.

Re: bright CC?

CC's are never bassy. I found the CC to be a little bright at times in my Warmoth VIP, but I put that down to the thick maple top.

Re: bright CC?

the CC is a midrange monster...it is not very bass heavy and IMO it is sometimes lacking in top end...I would assume that your guitar is simply VERY bright on it's own.

Re: bright CC?

Yup, has to be the fact the guitar is very bright itself. My CC in an alder body is very smooth. Not bright at all.

Re: bright CC?

If you find it bright, go to a 250K pot or tweak the settings on your amp first.
