I really like the brightness/openness of the Duncan 59(bridge)I thought about putting a alnico 8 or ceramic magnet and see what happens.

I was listening to the Van Halen 1 ISO track of Running with the devil on YouTube, give that a listen that’s the brightness cutting edge I’m talking about.

78 model. Very bright and cutting. Sounds like a cross between a Pearly Gates and a 59 with a bit of the bass rolled off. Not the highest gain, so you need the right pedals or amp to take you the rest of the way.

Well vintage output are the brightest. Then swap in a bright mag like A8, A9, or ceramic.

Trust me, it sounds more like an A5 pickup than an A2. Knowing a pickup's magnet (especially a Custom Shop pickup) does not mean that you know the nuances of the tone.
