Bright Les Paul

Looking to upgrade 2010 Les Paul Studio-chambered, stock.
It is bright as in acoustically little low end . Not horrible sounding just lacking punch. Looking for pickups to thicken up sound. Amp is Randall RM100, style hard rock (AIC).

Duncan custom bridge / pearly gates or 59' neck that'll get you some punch

If you really like Jerry's tone, it is 90% JB.

I would try a JB first, then if it doesn't work, try an UOA5 or A8.


I use a JB8 in my '81 les Paul Custom, and through my RedBear MK60, it's
the baddest sound ever [IMO of course ]
Mean, Growly, Open, and the entire midrange spectrum is simply MASSIVE.

I have a JB/Jazz in a RG - tone is excellent. Only concern for LP would be JB low end.
RG has more lows acoustically

Ive found the Custom in the bridge does a pretty good job of thickening up my LP.
