You might consider that if the Super ll isn't bright enough that your guitar and or amp are too dark. Or you might need a single coil or just remembered the Humbucker from Hell.

I have wondered about a Hybrid of the SD and Super II???

I have used the HFH before and it really isn't that bright. The problem with the HFH is it is very transparent, so it takes on the character of the neck material. If it is used with Rosewood or Ebony it is dark, but with a maple fretboard it sings like a single coil. I used to have the HFH in a number of guitars and removed them, until I figured out they sound better with a maple neck. If I did replace it I would use a Full Shred neck, because I know I like them.

Well, I just placed an order for an F-spaced Super 2. I'll see how it sounds in about a week and a half I guess. :hijacked: lol

I was just thinking. If its way bright, a 250 pot would cure that. And lowering pole pieces would add more lowend. Sorry OP to hijack.

Oh yeah, definitely. Sucks that it's a non-popular pickup because it was more expense to buy than it couldv'e been new. That's what I get for not being an E-bay shopper I guess.

You can gather an idea of what the Super II sounds like by listening to Vinnie Vincent. Just keep in mind the recordings have the treble jacked way up.

Any particular era? I'm sorry OP - I really am.
