Broadcaster wires

Were the broadcaster p/us ever made with regular wire for the leads, i.e., non-waxed cloth ?

From what i've read, heard and seen, Fender used waxed cloth wiring on ALL their guitars up until about 1968. Then they went to the thinner plastic coated wires that you see today. I still wish they used cloth wiring on all their stuff even today though!! Just looks better to me.

Oh ok I also had one of those in a 50's RI Esquire that i just sold. It did have cloth wires. (Being that their exact replicas of actual 1948-50 Broadcaster pickups)
