Why would we want it to sound exactly like a PAF? We already have that sound in 6 other production pups

True dat!

Not making any judgements...but I know my guitar. Once i know what poorman installed his in...I'll have a better idea whether its worth a try in the guitar I have for it. Otherwise it will hafta wait.

Put mine in a Tokai Love Rock (LS-150). Pretty much a standard Les Paul. This guitar was evenly voiced (neither too bright or dark). This pickup may not be as great in a darker guitar (like a Firebird Studio?)

51501984, you should see 3 holes on the mounting tabs, to confirm it's a trem-bucker. Also did yours come with a nickel cover and was it soldered on?

Yep , three holes on the mounting tabs and a nickel cover that`s soldered on. Thanks for the info Fusion.

Wasn't intended to be a judgement, just a figure of speech in a general statement. It really is relative in terms of what people like in terms of tone.

Actually dark would be a very good thing for my application.

It's slightly darker than most my other Duncans. I think you're going to like it very much. I suspect an overly bright guitar will be a monster with this pickup.

The brown clown hasn't shown up today. Actually he did, but he passed right by my house.

Still waiting for UPS...hopefully it'll come to tonight. UPS always shows up late around here.

Its definitely a brighter toned instrument I have in mind for it. Just wish it would get here.

Don't know what kind of music you play, but I suspect you'll be most pleased regardless.

LS150, eh? Care to show some pics and share your opinions on it? :D I've been doing much research on the Tokais lately (how I saw your post about my Edwards).

And yes..the Firebird. No maple cap.

This p'up may be a tad too dark for that geetar.

You know I've had many requests for pics of my Tokai (and my Burny)...I don't have a digital camera...guess now would be a good time to get one...

Opinion in the Tokai? Good build. BEAUTIFUL to look at and a joy to play. Great electronics (orange drops, CTS, Switchcraft etc) except the pickups. For the price, I highly recommend it. I also have an R7...ok, lets not get crazy here--The Tokai is good but my R7 smokes it. But the LS-150 is better than any standard I've seen hanging on GC's walls in the past 15 years.

Tokai has raised their prices for 2006. Almost to the point (when you cinsider shipping) they aren't worth it. Now having said that, LET'S SEE HOW GOOD THE NEW TOKAIS ARE...

Curly, you dog! 3?

(by the way, those sandals are nasty.) :laugh2:

Re: Brobucker Comes to Life! Lotsa pics!

Seriously though, Curly. I know you can drop that puppy in a geetar right quick. Please give the others the tonal review they want so badly. My words done don't match my tone...

Yup, I wanted that Eddie. I've got my paws on a couple good MIJ copies (and a dog--Korean Orville--I thought they were all MIJ!!!) D'OH! :smack:
