Re: Brobucker Comes to Life! Lotsa pics!
OMG I just installed it in my LP! It's a really rich sounding pickup, saying 'complex sounding' would be an understatement...
But before I installed it I gave my C5 a good listen on all 3 of my Bogner's channels. Then I took it out and quickly installed the Brobucker. It sounded great right off the bat but after a few tweaks (raising the polepieces a little and radius them, riasing the entire pickup) I got it to sound perfect! It's just plain perfect! Exactly what I was expecting, maybe even better. Fat and smooth yet with enough cut and very complex mids going on. I get harmonics all over the place with great ease.
To me it sounds a bit like a C5 but less compressed, more complex, perfet mids, clearer notes and a bigger, less squishy low end.
Ok well maybe not much like the C5 but under gain it has that same bark exept this puppy has bigger and meaner fangs!
Cleans are nice, very deep and chimey at the same time. I need to play a little more with settings to get it to sound better.
I'm surprised it sounds very different from the 59n, when I flip the toggle there is quite a difference in sound. The difference between the 59 and C5 was smaller.
The 59 sounds a little muffled compared to the Brobucker but again I may need to adjust things.
I noticed that people called it a dark pickup and I agree but it still sounds very clear and present at the same time, I like that a lot.
So far my first findings, I'm soooo bummed I didn't order 2 of them.
I'm def. ordering more in the near future, maybe a mini version for my SG

, could SD and MJ do that?
ohh I almost forgot: THANKS!!!
