Brobucker Comes to Life! Lotsa pics!

People adjust their pole pieces a number of ways. Some match the radius of the strings, some adjust by ear, others don't adjust at all. It's a matter of preference. Basically you are adjusting the volume of the respective string by moving the polepiece closer or further away from the string. It'll also affect tone to a point. Experiment and let your ears guide you.

Great--thanks a lot. I had a feeling that it would affect both but I wanted to be sure there wasn't something else.

This concerned me once the specs were finallized. And was why I had hoped for a vote to the full strength A5 with that kind of overwind.

Good point. I don't have any experience with degaussed mags. Would a full strength A5 brighten it much?

Does the Fillmore use an a2 magnet? That would explain the looseness and the sweetness!

I just did some investigating and I found out that the Fillmore uses an A5 magnet as well.

Re: Brobucker Comes to Life! Lotsa pics!

Question to any LI guys who ordered a Brobucker: Did you get yours yet? I'm still awaiting UPS...I think at this point they're just taunting me :laugh2:

Re: Brobucker Comes to Life! Lotsa pics!

Got my BroBucker yesterday.

Looks very nice, and just has that feeling of quality. Well, MJ made it so you know the build quality is top notch.

Now what guitar am I going to put this in????

Re: Brobucker Comes to Life! Lotsa pics!

Mine just arrived.

I haven't been on the forum lately, so I didn't know it was on the way. What a nice surprise. I also didn't know SD was signing them. Another nice surprise.

Now, do I put it in my LP, or in the neck of the Tele I've been working on, or just leave it in the box all nice and pretty?

Man, after reading this whole thread, I'm exhausted.

Many thanks to all involved: MJ, SD, guy who collected the money (I'm lousy with names), all the little people behind the scenes, my agent, my...No, no Mr. Stickman, put that baton-thingey down! Where's Halle Berry?...Whoa I gotta go...Hey Joe. Good-Bye everybody!

With as much shipping as you do, and receive, I'm surprised they haven't rezoned your house for corporate instead of residential. :laugh2: :D

Re: Brobucker Comes to Life! Lotsa pics!

well actually my parents business is run out of the house and i do my graphic design out of the house LOL. i tried to pull that with a company and say it was a business address to get lower shipping on a large item but since it's a residential area on a private block it wouldn't work lol.

Re: Brobucker Comes to Life! Lotsa pics!

Speaking of shipping, for those that ordered 2 or more Brobuckers, were they charged $7.00 shipping for each pickup? I overlooked that initially and paid shipping for each pickup not thinking if there was combined shipping since 2 or 3 pickups fit in the same box. No big deal just curious.

Re: Brobucker Comes to Life! Lotsa pics!

Dude, you got a Custom Shop pickup for the price of a production model, and you're asking about the shipping charges?????????????

I know you said it's "no big deal". I'd have to say it never occurred to me to ask. Since you did, though, I'd have to say you're lucky Scott_F didn't charge you for the time and hassle of handling the order, and organizing things to begin with.

it's no big deal, I just thought I'd comment. :)

Re: Brobucker Comes to Life! Lotsa pics!

Curly, I knew if I asked someone was going to say that. I wasn't complaining as I am greatful for this pickup I just said I was curious. Someone on here (I think it was Jeremy) bought 4 Brobuckers. Did they pay $28 for shipping? That's all my question was. And again, yes I understand we got a custom shop pickup for a huge discount. Just to be clear I am NOT complaining!! :D

Re: Brobucker Comes to Life! Lotsa pics!

I've bought 2, and I don't care for them shipping charges. SD company and Scott did a very cool thing by giving us that great offer.

Best,

B

no problem ... I'm just old and cranky! :)

I ordered two, and never ever even gave a second thought to shipping charges. I look at this as a one time deal at the price.

Scott_F explained when he worked out the fees that he was just trying to avoid losing money out of his own pocket.

Regardless, we got a smokin' deal on a pickup that's a real collector's item, IMHO. ;)

Peace

furthermore, IMO, we could show some appreciation by doing something special for MJ and SWD, who went above and beyond, and were very cool about it.

just a thought :)

I agree 1000%. I would also include Evan and Scott too. Scott is the one who put this all together and Evan put up with our b:censored:ching and moaning about a 10k bucker.

The question would be -- what do we do?
