Brobucker praise

Thats odd. My experience is that these ‚dunaged mags‘ from 1996 are unoriented. Charging them with my neo did not show a big difference. But i can redo the charging today and test them with a gaussmeter - that that time i only could do the ‚fridge test‘.

I've only done it to my Antiquities, not to either of my Brobuckers (one from the original batch, the other newer).
Ironically, I've sometimes wondered idly whether swapping a UA5 into one would change the tone.
Maybe UA5 is a secret ingredient? Not aware of any other Duncans that use it stock. So far, at least.

Someday I would like to compare degaussed vs unoriented in the same pickup.
But I love the Bros just the way they are.
Fantastic bridge for a bright guitar. I could see them being less ideal for a dark one though.

what neos do you use to charge? i have a few 1" disks but i usually use these 3" x .5" bars, i also have some 3" x .25" bars but the 1/2" works great

oh, and yes, thats a magnetic beer coozy

I have a 1" disk just like yours, even the same little round plastic box.

Haven't tried bars like those - I bet they're super strong.
Probably have to be mighty careful about any other pickups nearby.
And fingers, when sticking 'em to the fridge!

funny you say that. i got my first set of 3" x .5" bars and put them on the fridge. i asked my wife not to touch them cause they are super strong... she ended up with a nasty blood blister from being pinched between the two. it was a bitch to get them apart but even with her skin in the way, the force was enough to bust one

Two of them are in my recharging vice. This worked on every other pickup regardless on Fenders and Gibson style bar magnets. So my conclusion is that the Ant mags are unoriented.
