Brobucker>Tube Screamer>Cranked Tube Amp. Anything better on Earth?

Re: Brobucker>Tube Screamer>Cranked Tube Amp. Anything better on Earth?

If the Brobucker I have was mine, Doc, I'd definately try a mag swap. Since Travis lent it to me though, I don't want to mess with it too much.

Cool man...

BTW the PATB-3 is also in the ballpark with those suckers. Actually, in my strat it sounds fatter than a Demon.

Yep, I think the PATB-3 is the fattest, punchiest one of all. I really dug it in my LP and it found a permanent home in my all maple Carvin DC127-T. I thought nothing could top the CC in that Carvin, but the Blues is about as fat but has a much tighter low end and more spank to the highs.

I would love to try it in my Hamer, but the PATB series pickups don't fit in the body routes. It seems that the only pickups that'll drop right in are Dimarzios. Even standard spaced Duncans with short legs need a bit of "convincing" to go in it.

:banghead:

I know. I have broken more than a few HB legs myself.

At the risk of sounding like an extreme oddball..wait, thats been taken care of..ok..heres what i think about the Bro-
Its the first "Dimarzio Style" pickup, in taht it "voices a guitar" ,rather than takes the guiatrs inherent tone and faithfully executes the hi-fi dynamics of it as is the trademark of all great Duncan pickups IMO. Case in point- my Walnut SG, (in which its extremely hard to find a good bridge pickup) ; The Brobucker "voices" that guitar to be a basic Les Paul of the 59 standard tone like on Tulls "Aqualaung". Thats an amazing acheivement. You could say Symour out-Dimarzio'd Dimarzio!
Feel free to call me a loon on this. Its pure specualtion, and alchohol fueled.

Sweet LP. I think I'd look sweet with a pickup ring fitted for the P90

Re: Brobucker>Tube Screamer>Cranked Tube Amp. Anything better on Earth?

Thanks dude! I've been looking for one of those for a long time.

The P-Rails will solve all, when it's in double cream of course.

Re: Brobucker>Tube Screamer>Cranked Tube Amp. Anything better on Earth?

The Brobucker was a hit because we asked for an A5 10K pickup that kicks butt.

I haven't tried the Brobucker, but I've experienced a A5 ~10K pickup in the Goodwood... I'd love to compare it side-by-side to the Brobucker.

Problem is I can't solder, and I don't have a Brobucker. :p

Re: Brobucker>Tube Screamer>Cranked Tube Amp. Anything better on Earth?

Good mix, I'm really enjoying it. I think ultimately a P-Rails is gonna go in the neck, but it needs to be cream.

Here's hoping they release the P-rails in creme eventually. I can see myself with 2 of these in creme for the neck if they come in CREEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAMMMMMM

Re: Brobucker>Tube Screamer>Cranked Tube Amp. Anything better on Earth?

And howd'ya like that Galaxie? I've heard good things about 'em. I don't really intend on buying one buy they look pretty fun.

It's awesome! I would put it up against a Valve Jr. and Blackheart 5w's.

A 1x10 Celestion, 1 12ax7 and 1 5881/6L6 in true class A. And you have a preamp and power amp gain and 3 band marshall EQ.

It does a tweedy fender clean and when you wind it up it does Vox a bit and ends up in Marshall land as far as crunch goes.

It loves any pedals you have...

awesome after you swap the sovteks and break in that celestion tube 10...
