Broken input jack...

...On a Buddy of mines Randall Rh200. Apperently he was playing and the phone rang, and he Litterally "ran" to get the phone, and when he got to the end of the his cord, The Jack on his Amp snapped off. He says theres "Just a big F**kin hole there now" where the jack used to be.
So I'm thinking I may end up having to put a new jack in for him. But I'm unsure whether randall mounts they're input jacks on the circut board or not. Cause I've never really dealt with a circut board mounted jack, and I'm not even sure where I would go to get a replacement?
So If anyone here could tell me how the jack is mounted. I'de really appreciate it. And if its a circut board mounted jack, if ya know where I can get a replacement, Lemme know.
thanks guys.

Re: Broken input jack...

With a educated guess I'd say almost certain it's PCB mounted. Is it the Marshall style like this.

If so? go to HoffmanAmps

Yeah, I'm guessing its pcb mounted too. But I have no idea what kinda jack it is really, I haven't seen it yet....he called me a minute ago all frantic...so I'll have to wait an see. thanks for the link though.

Re: Broken input jack...

I've learned that it's best to contact a dealer for that amp, and order it, unless Randall's customer service will sell it direct.

Anytime I thought I could buy one elsewhere, I was wrong, because there's so many different pin configurations, you'll surely end up with one that is slightly off.

Re: Broken input jack...

I always hard wire off the circuit board and go with the metal switchcraft jack...I did this on my Fender Pro Juinor amp and I believe plastic should never be used as a jack, but my Marshall ones have held up over the years...

The jack you're talking about probably isn't the jack shown, but more than likely the cheaper Radio Shack closed circuit type!

I agree, but sometimes there's no room because the PC board is pushed right up to the inside of the chassis, so that all the pots can be mounted as well.

I'm not sure how the Randall is, but I wish amp companies wouldn't do that.
The Marshall jacks are pretty sturdy, for being plastic, but most aren't.
