Hi all. I've had this 20w Samick amp for years now and yesterday I was using 2 effects pedals on the one 9v 600ma adapter. It was working but had a high pitched static sound so I tried using just one and that static was much quieter so then I plugged them both back in and the static was gone, then I realised so was all the sound lol.
So basically the amp still powers on and has a red light but all it does is make little static clicking noises and a constant buzzing when I turn the master volume up really loud and when you turn it off it with the master volume turned up makes a static noise like bad analog reception on a TV for a second until the light goes out. It's not my 3 guitars or the cables and I've tried plugging headphones or speakers into the amp and all it does is make the clicking sounds through the speakers or headphones. It does the same thing whether something is inserted into the input jack or not.
So is it fixable or even worth it? I wanted to buy a better amp anyway since I love playing the guitar. The best deal I can get for now is a Laney session 45 twin reverb amp that will likely need a pot cleaning and it's just missing the gain knob (which isn't too important for now and is easily replaceable)
P.S. all this happened just because I wanted to try use my distortion and chorus pedals to make something close to the noise out of Dire Straits - Money For Nothing which is nearly impossible because they done it by mistake lol
