Brown Sound

I am needing help on finding a EVH Seymour Duncan Custom pickup. I have read that there was a pickup designed in the custom shop, but I'm unable to locate it in the website.
Any help would be great, just don't let Ed know.............

Re: Brown Sound

You're looking for the '78 Model, otherwise known as the EVH Model or Evenly Voiced Harmonics. The only custom Eddie pickup from Seymour is his PAF from a 335 that had one coil rewound slightly hotter than the other.

Although it will get you in the pickup arena, you won't get that tone playing it on a Les Paul or PRS through a Mesa Boogie. It needs to be straight bolted to an ash (preferably) or alder body and then run in to a cranked Marshall. Then you'll be in the ballpark.

If you're looking for a cheaper substitute, check out the Custom Custom or a 59. They'll both get you pretty close. The CC will be a little hotter.

What kind of setup (guitar, amp, etc.) are you using?

Welcome to the forum, btw.
