Budda, anyone? Opinions needed.

So I´m planning on ending my vintage-craze by buying a Budda. A used SuperDrive 30 1x12 to be exact. I´ve come to the conclusion that a vintage el84 - driven amp is impossible to find over here and they´re way overpriced even if I could find one..

Any opinions on the amp would be greatly apprecciated as the Budda website is not exactly the most informative site I´ve visited and I really don´t want to read through HarmonyCentral once again as I find it a pretty biased site anyway IMHO.

They sound different from year to year - NO LIE!

I have recorded with one more than once. I prefer the 2x12. The 1x12 just a'int right. In LA, there is a tribute band that uses them, and it sounds good.

Sounds like a mini-plexi with a huge dose of vox. It records well, it's a decently full sounding combo with sweet cleans. Very vintage, and volume responsive.

I have seen ones WITH and WITHOUT the 5u4 rectifier, which is a big part of the SAG. If you can try one out and you like it, it's a keeper. It will sound very good mixed with a larger amp. The great feature is the vintage gain mixed with the sweet cleans you can get a la Matchless, but not as cutting. it's got an EVH'ish feel to it in the gain, nice!

Check on the head and 2x12 as well.

They also take FX very well thru the loop.
