Budget tweed pedal?

Re: Budget tweed pedal?

If the Joyo is more or less a clone of the Tech 21 Blonde pedal, then it is worth considering. The Blonde sounds amazing into a clean channel or direct to a PA.
I love the Tech21 Flyrig5, and suspect the Joyo American Sound would also sound great...Through a clean channel on many amps...Sounds fine through my Fender Blues Jr tweed...however, because it is a preamp, it can conflict with the amp's preamp. It can sound very hissy etc...My Tech21 sounds best through a Tech21 PowerEngine 60 because no preamp in it...
So, if experimenting with any preamp pedal I believe the key is a clean platform or even a p.a. channel. (to my ears the PowerEngine 60 sounds better than a p.a. channel)

Love the FlyRig5. You are right, though...you have to use it direct to a PA, in the effects return of a guitar amp or into a full range amp. I haven't tried the PE60- I have heard it was quirky with some modelers. I do own a Trademark 60, though, which I really like.
