buffer or pup booster

well, in an effort to give some of my songs a more classic rockabilly sound, I've been expirimenting with tons of reverb, tape delay, chorus, tremolo, all that, and I've noticed that such effects thin out a lot of your distortion, which is a problem for me because i like to play under quite a bit of distortion.

so which would be a better way to get some of that distortion back, a pickup booster, or a buffer?

keep in mind my reverb is on my amp & i use distortion pedals

You must buy the most expensive shootbypass butyquie pedals avaible
As for using lots of reverb and delay...well it spaces up your sound.
Only way to keep it all really fat is to run a dry signal into one amp and the other parrallel into another amp with all that verb and delay....and before long like us in the eighties you'll have so much stuff to haul around....well that is the way if you really really want to keep the fatness.

well, thats possible since I'm running 2 amps now, though one doesn't have reverb

but, will a pup booster or buffer help anything?

A buffer might help your signal not to degrade too much if you have lots of pedals and a long cable.
From the overdrives/distortions you'll need to have two outs to each amp, one through to the delay and amp reverb, the other with gain and cleans only.
Then you can mix the levels on your amps.
I used to do that.

a pup booster will definetly boost. Ever since I got mine I have been using it to booster my single and fatten up my sound. It takes my single coils to a whole new realm. I voted for the pup booster, it's definetly worthwhile.
