Re: Bugera Amps?

They're Chinese made, distributed by Beheringer in the USA. Dist By Bugera in Europe. I have a 6262 (clean and crunch on one and dirty on the other) has reverb and presence setting for each channel. It sounds pretty crappy clean unless you crank it a little...then it's not bad. The crunch is very very good. The hot channel is just that, very overdriven, but stays tight, especially with P-90's. It really likes "Good" pickups and doesn't treat cheap pups very well. I gave $550 for mine, new and it is well worth that. there is a newer model (333) that has 3 channels (all footswitchable) (can't footswitch to crunch on mine), but sounds absolutely identical. The 333 has more chrome on it than a 55 Buick...looks cool. The 333 has one reverb control for the amp and no presense control. For an inexpensive amp, it is a good buy, it's not a Bogner or Dr. Z, but not bad. They come with 6L6 tubes but can be changed to EL-34's with a bias reset. I really like mine. I've had it about a week and I have played it every day. It is NOT the best amp I have ever played. But, IMO, well worth the $$$.

Re: Bugera Amps?

I don't need to hear them. Their ads in GP alone make me want to puke.

Yeah, the ads suck. I actually hadn't seen any ads before I bought mine. The local music store got one in and brought it to my house for me to try. (we're friends). So luckily for me, I hadn't seen those ads, yet. I think they are designed for young metal players on a budget and kind of fit that bill. Not as bad as the ads make them look.

Re: Bugera Amps?

Best I can tell their junk but there is a lot of talk about them in various placed on the WWW, look around and Im sure you'll find loads of first hand info...

Re: Bugera Amps?

I came across their newest Ebay ads, and they grabbed my eye.

I read the harmony-central reviews, and could swear it looks like reviews written by the same marketing guy. They keep reminding us that they're for the player who WOULD buy a Peavey 5150.

Re: Bugera Amps?

Equivalent to B52 amps. Tubes and cheap PC boards.

hmmm I kinda like the one B52 I played.. Darnright, thanks for the info.. Keep us posted on how it holds up.

Im looking for a really musical amp thats a step up from my Peavey Ultra Plus. I think I have finally become fulfilled on the guitar front..

Re: Bugera Amps?

I would not buy one. Made in china, made by Behringer, and with only a One year warranty on it, you are asking for disaster. If the Chinese can't build simpler amps like the Peavey Valveking right (and lets not get into Vox and Line 6 modelers) there is no way in hell they are going to build a large tube amp to last.
