Re: Bugera Amps

I'm interested to know about this amp... and the build quality. How's the 22 W one?

Re: Bugera Amps

it's a behringer brand, which means they just ripped off the design. whatever it is i wouldn't go for it:dunno:

Exactly, purchasing Behringer means you´re fine with buying getting the cheapest possible quality knockoff using the cheapest materials and labor sourceable (chinese labor, speaker cabs made of MDF, B grade electronic components that belong in a tamagotchi or a furby, et. al.) . Essentially one can see it as paying half the price for a fourth of the quality and 2/3 of the tone.

Ever see a 4x12 cab essentially disintegrate after being simply knocked on it´s back? That´s the kind of ultraboutique quality I´m talking about. The back was off and had a hole in it, the top, sides and bottom were separated at the back, essentially the soundboard was the only thing holding the f00ker together. In my honest opinion it actually sounded better that way :laugh2:

For comparisen, I´ve rolled my 500$ custom made 4x12 down a flight of stairs and literally damaged the stairs more than the cab. So where is this "unbelievable value" that all the kiddies are praising Behringer for having?

Re: Bugera Amps

my new philosophy concerning musical instruments and all the other fine things in life:

if you want instant, short-term gratification, go for the cheap chinese crap.

if you want your investment to last, save up and get the real thing.

i say it to the guy who's Ibanez Artcore is falling apart at the binding, i'll say it to everybody who's playing a half-alder Epiphone Les Paul and i'll repeat it every time i see a Bugera thread.

Re: Bugera Amps

Thanks guys for your opinions. I was thinking I might have missed out on something with Bugera amps.

That is what turns me off with Marshall amps. The pressed fiberboard cabinetry, plastic protective corners and lower grade pots. You'd think for the price Marshall gets they could improve in those areas.

Re: Bugera Amps

Not all chinese amplifiers are created equal, i suppose.
The blackheart I had was definitely built solid for the price. The combo I had needed a pot adjusted so that it contacted the circuit board better but that was it. My scxd doesn't suit me in some ways but it's certainly not built cheap. It's reasonably constructed, given the price.

Re: Bugera Amps

Most commercial amps are made this way, keeps their cost down and they can still charge you the same price. :banghead:
