Bugera Quality ?

Re: Bugera Quality ?

ok I'm getting the 6262 212 today it is not an infinium model though but it is new or so the ad says and it still has stickers and tags. I will post a review once I get to play around with it

Re: Bugera Quality ?

Having said that, I'd love to get a hold of a couple broken Bugera amps, gut them and do some hand-wired jobs in the carcass, a'la Hovercraft.

Judging from my limited experience with the 333xl, the chassis and the headshell aren't really worthy of holding a fine handwired amp. You'd be better off getting a quality headshell and chassis and transformers for a custom build. Yes, it will be much more expensive but totally worth it in the end.

Bugeras, for what they are, sound actually pretty damn good, IMO. Way beyond expectations. It's just the way they are built that's leaving a bad aftertaste. They are not meant to be repaired but thrown away. I wouldn't trust my own gig on one, ever, let alone a tour. But I can see one doing the duty of an in-house public use rehearsal space amp well enough.

I got it. Will post a review once I get to crank it today, it was looked over by a well known Toronto amp tech and given a clean bill of health. The guy I traded with said he tours with the 333xl without any issues so heres hoping I got a good one!

Hovercraft builds on old Epiphone and Crate heads, but changes the transformers and everything in between. The chassis and 2x12 tolex'd combo with speakers I can destroy at will would save a lot of the budget. More to spend on MM trannies.

Songforthedeaf, mind giving us your opinion on the amp in a little bit? Never hurts to have more reviews.

Re: Bugera Quality ?

well to put it lightly...I hate the amp.

Does not like my pedals at all, clean channel is very bright and sterile/stiff and it has very little headroom for a 120 watt amp. Time to go sell :(

Re: Bugera Quality ?

Sorry to hear it man. I'd save up and get something really nice. It may take time to save enough and this is going to sound cheesy, but the longer the wait, the sweeter the payoff when it's something you really, really like.

Re: Bugera Quality ?

I had a Bugera V22 that was a great sounding amp. As far as quality is concerned, I had no issues with the V22. I returned a Bugera 333XL because it rattled. I tried to pinpoint the problem and couldn't--decided to take it back to Guitar Center. So I'm 50/50 with them. Personally, I think your Fender Deville is worth more than the Bugera 6262...

Much appreicated man, I'm goanna sell the Bugera today and finance a silverface Fender DRRI for smaller gigs and home use/recording. I'm not bashing Bugera amps just this one with my rig, it just did not work and the cleans were too bland for me.

Re: Bugera Quality ?

Thinking of trading my Fender DeVille 2x12 for a Bugera 6262 2x12 just to change things up.. I use mostly pedals for distortion and fuzz but would not mind having amp distortion for messing around with if its good I would just keep the footswitch on my board.

Any experience or opinions much appreciated!

It will break down, I would prefer to quit guitar all together. Trading a Fender Devilline for a guaranteed breakdown is insanity, especially just to "change things up"

It will break down, there is no build quality at all, end of story.

Wow... I guess it will breakdown :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Sold it for 600 and bought a Mesa 5:50 express which sounds crazy good with my setup. I win

Re: Bugera Quality ?

chinese-made garbage. i've heard a lot of bad things about them. i thought hard about getting one then the reviews swayed me.

not sure about quality but it's distortion was not bad at all.

Go look at Voxes that are made in China and see how many gigging players use them. Don't be an elitist

Re: Bugera Quality ?

I watched a video on youtube about the 333xl and it's sort of a competitor to the Engl, so I guess you have to be looking for that taste.

China's the new Korea anymore. The new China is what, Indonesia? No, India. Mahar guitars.

Glad to hear it all turned out good in the end! Mesa's have awesome tone and gain! I though the Bugera Crunch tone was well worth the price of the amps, I was 50/50 on the quality but still think the tone gives you value for the money. And I totally agree about the Voxes from China–incredible tone!

Exactly, the bugera was not a terrible sounding amp just not my style.. it was super tight and I like a bit of a looser sounding amp. The China made Voxes sound really nice too if you dig the Vox sound. I went with the Mesa just because of it's weight an size and the power of it for its size. Still cost me a bit but that is what Financing is for ;)

i'd never buy an asian-made musical product. i have enough bad experiences, personally, and the constant quality issues i read about are enough justification. elitist or not, i like to pay for quality.
