I'm looking to build a small but big sounding stomp box
To add to my acoustic pedal board... any ideas on the pick up I should mod for this project? And any Ideas for the housing?

are you putting a pickup in the box to stomp on?
if so Rondo has one here
Piezo pickup in a box
tap with foot to make a percussion beat

or were you thinking something else?

a compressor?

or something huge sounding in a small box?

If you don't like the piezo thing, find a contact pickup. It's basically a microphone.
A stock guitar pickup won't work, if that's what you're talking about.

Thank you for your insight. I think I'm just going to chop up a mic I have. The housing I still am stomped with. I want to stay small, and lite.

please tell us what you are trying to do
we are all just guessing here
both your posts are really vague as to what your project is

all we know is that
a) its small about the size of a pack of ciggs
b) it sounds huge
c) a microphone?

Hehe. Ive just started experimenting with foot percussion, but ive ended up using an old tea chest and a kick drum pedal with a full mic inside running into a PA system. Not small, but it definitely sounds huge!
