my friends and i are going to be staying in a pretty big house this summer and are converting the basement to a rehearsal space. I have a few questions about some affordable heads...and if you guys can suggest something I haven't thought of yet i'd like to hear it.
anybody ever try the Peavey Valve King 100w? is it more of a modern metal amp or are vintage rock tones coaxable too? Is there a 1/2 power switch?
what about the Vox Valvetronix? I know some of you love it for quiet hi-gain tones, but what about loud clean, slight tube break-up, and hi-volume distortion riffing? Most modeling amps are especially weak in the 'slight break-up' department...
And are the Gallien Krueger bass amps as nice as they seem? I love their tone and the price is right but i said that about the DOD grunge pedal too back when i didn't know any better :27:
Thanks dudes
