Building a SuperStrat...

I'm having a SuperStrat built for me and I'm trying to decide between three pickups for the neck position. The guitar will be alder with a maple neck and rosewood board. Looking at either a Cool Rails, a Hot Rails, or a Quarter Pound neck pickup. Bridge will be a JB trembucker. What would you put in the neck position out of those three and why?

Doesn't really matter what anyone here thinks man. What are you looking to get out of the neck position?

that's a better question than just asking us to pick one of three choices.

In mine I have the Dimarzio Satch Track neck.

Fantastic neck pickup ( I have a Fast Track 1 in the middle )

Nothing it won't cover.

I also have a JB in the bridge.

Re: Building a SuperStrat...

One of my Jackson Dinkys had a Hot Rails in the neck when I bought it. It was about the most lifeless and sterile sounding neck pickup I've played through. The Hot Rails is a great bridge pickup, though, IMHO.

If it were me, I would probably order a Pearly Gates Jr from the Custom Shop since the PGn is my favorite neck pickup, and I will more than likely go this route when I start reconfiguring my HSS guitars.
