not as expensive as rosewood, I get planks of it and split it down to size, great to work with, wouldnt want to make a solid body out of it, then it would be heavy, can split longitudinally if you get rough with it, but a great tone..
Man, that purpleheart is such a great color...is it more expensive than other exotics? Is it too heavy, or hard to work with? You usually only see it in solid bodies a neck stripe or occasional fingerboard.
