Butchered 800

Re: Butchered 800

When I look at these images, I get the same revulsion as when I see pics of the poor les pauls that were mutilated in the '80s to "improve" them by adding a floyd, a top horn cutaway, weight-relief holes made with hand-drills...etc...

I'm like Firebird: if it doesn't suit you sell it and get something else...

:lmao:

Oh I wish i was stateside so i could post some gut shots of my 2 modded JCM800s. The one that was done by Elan Menron looks like a rats nest with a urinal cake inside. There is even a tube coming out of the side! of the chassis.

But you know what there is nothing on the market like it and no stock 800 can come close to touching it for hi gain stuff. For what I want out of it its a huge improvement. If I could find a modern channel switching amp with the same gain and voicing as my Langer modded 800 I would never have to buy another amp.

Its not like 800's are particularly rare even now 30 years later. I'm not sure why people get so bunged up with guys mod them. The reason is simple you mod cause what your after isnt available in a production amp.

Well-said, despite my earlier post.
