Buying a keyboard on monday!

I have tried out keyboards all week at both music stores in town and today my favourite store had a new one, an old staff member is selling his old Yamaha and it looks like he haven't touched it! IIRC it's this one, the Yamaha PSR 210. 61 keys, the sounds is ok, better then most cheapo keyboards of today (i don't have a clue when they produced this?)!

I'm getting it for just $127

That's a great deal. I'll admit I don't know very much about keyboards, but probably a bit more than most people here. I have a Yamaha DX7s from 1987 that I paid $400 CAN for. It is in excellent condition aside from a few scratches in the paint. Best of all, it NAILS a lot of great synth tones from yesteryear.

I'd like to get an old Roland Jupiter analog synth some day. They tend to go for a lot of money on EBay.

Re: Buying a keyboard on monday!

Congrats for your synth, man.

Funny thing but our bassist bought a DGX piano-sized synth recently :) It has an absolutely positive effect on his playing: he plays more articulate somehow and the condition, power and speed of his fingers as he says improved more than they ever did with playing bass :)

Re: Buying a keyboard on monday!

Thanks, i could even call the store tomorrow and see if there open and i could have it tomorrow!

I don't understand. How are you typing on your computer without a keyboard?

Guitarists..can't live wiht them.. :)

Congrats on the keys! Looks like a good all around synth for the $-

What you going to use it for?
I'm in a multiband so still get to crossover to keys from time to time, but have to say that phrasing, chops, theroy, and of course reading are so much better when you've got keys under control-

Now get out there and write the perfect chord progresion that proves that guitarists can play more than 'jump':)
Cheers

I'm thinking of buying a Roland XP-30 used from a local guy who never used it. $450
I'm just going to sell off a one of my cheaper guitars to pay for it. I can't wait to record with the Roland, using some of it's cool sounds.
