Buying guitar picks in bulk?

Hey guys.

I'm thinking about buying a bulk lot of guitar picks and wondered if anyone could recommend anywhere I could get them from?

I don't want anything snazzy or with custom artwork etc, just normal shape celluloid heavy gauge guitar picks.

Thanks for any info anyone can offer.

Amazon is usually a good place to get them. Either from Amazon proper, or their approved sellers. Might check Amazon UK?

I just went to eBay. Got a 20 pack of Jazz IIIs for the same price as retail/on-line and free shipping.

I'd recommend it. I bought two 75-piece bulk packs of Tortexes when I worked at a music shop back in 2004. I still have probably half of them, and in the time since, I've not once had to worry about buying picks. There isn't a huge markup on picks, so you really won't save all that much by trying to bargain for a quantity discount. I paid cost, and the bags were $13 a piece, or about 17 cents a pick. Musician's Friend's retail price is less than 2x that ($3.95 for a dozen, or about 33 cents per pick).

Or you could by a pick punch and make your own, My daughter gave me one for Christmas, and it is fun to experiment with different materials. They also sell stock material so you can order what you want.

The guys who used to run my local mom&pop music emporium when I was growing up moved into online when they closed their brick-and-mortar operation. I ran into Mark at NAMM a bunch of years ago, and bought a bag of his Picks By The Pound. It is a variety pack of all kinds of picks - a lifetime supply. I filled a couple ashtrays with them in my practice room.

I just did a search for them, and they are still in business. http://www.picksbythepound.com

I get mine here. I usually buy a gross at a time sometimes more. They are basically the same as the Dunlop Tortex, but they make a lot of other types also. I was able to design my own image & they printed on the pick for me too. They wound up costing about .25 cents each.

eBay... I've ordered many sets many times. It's much more convenient than having to run to the store every now and then.

Re: Buying guitar picks in bulk?

I just bought a half gross of picks (Dunlop Max Grip) last night for $17.99 shipped off of Amazon.

I've been meaning to do this for a while actually. I was gonna order a bunch of tortex Jazz picks directly from Dunlop but they won't ship to Canada.
