Do you buy any replacement parts from ebay?
I went in for the 1st time... and seen more then a few shops or body parts there for cheap prices with specs that are very useful to me...

And now, to the Marathon Man question:

Is it safe?

And can you recommend a dealer there?

I've bought many replacement parts. Make sure you know what you're looking for, what brand, before you shop. Then check the seller's approval rating.

I have 3 kit guitars that I built off e-bay parts

I have bought a ton of parts off of ebay and have saved a bundle. Ebay is the first place I go to if I need a part. First, make sure you know what you want and if it will fit. Second buy from people who have a good feedback rating. Third, look for auctions with good descriptions and pictures. Fourth, ask as many questions as you need to if you are not sure about something, and don't be afraid to ask for more pics.

I've had a lot of good experiences buying guitars and parts off E-bay. This one guy in particluar stands out as having great prices and fast service:

I would only buy name brand parts from manufacters whose names you recognize, there are alot of junk parts on Ebay!

+1 on the name brands. A lot of the really cheap stuff on ebay that looks like the good stuff is total junk.
