Buzzing after new pick-up install. Help.

I just finished installing SD Jazz in the neck and Little Pearly Gates in the bridge of my American Telecaster. I'm using a 4-way switch and I followed the SD diagram for Humbucker, Humbucker with 4-way switch for Telecaster. The room I play in has a dimmer switch in the light and when it's turned on I get a buzz/hum. This is my first real experience with humbuckers, is this buzz to be expected or do I have a ground issue? I went back over my solder joints and they all feel strong. Thanks.

The buzz could well be caused by the lighting dimmer/fader control. Test the guitar and amplifier in another room, where there is no lighting dimmer. Should be okay.

The buzz is definitely from the dimmer. I didn't know whether the humbuckers should be able to defeat the buzz from the dimmer?

Audio equipment and lighting equipment should never be on the same circuit for this very reason. Either you need to get your guitar and amp on a different circuit from the lighting, or keep that lighting dimmer all the way on full when you play.
