BYOG DAY!

Re: BYOG DAY!

Awful.... Send it here for disposal!

Nah, that really looks superb.... Cool and classy.

Re: BYOG DAY!

Nice job. Creative pickguard. (Even though I like a few ABBA songs.) :)

What's that little Peavey amp?

Re: BYOG DAY!

Nice job! I dig your other guitars too.

One reason I want the new forum pickup to be a fullsize Filtertron 4 lead is so I can put it in the bridge position of a tele. Who makes the ones in your tele and Reverend?

The Reverend is a Reverend Rev-Tron. The Tele is a GFS Mini-Filtron Hot Nashville. Probably the best sounding bridge pickup of the bunch and significantly cheaper.

Tru-Oil kit...

OK not to be annoying, but where did you get your kit? The only Tru Oil I could find locally was at a gun shop, and all they had were the little bottles of the oil itself. Was it a cloth or something they included?

Re: BYOG DAY!

there is a pic above that shows my other guitars hanging from the wall. The tele on the right was finished in Min-Wax Poly. The pin-striping was some cheap automotive pinstriping. That one started off as a black on black Vintage Modified Squier Tele. Only the body and pickguard remain from the original guitar. The poly is still nice, but I also only used one coat on it. Its been well over a year since I did that and its held up quite well.

Wow, that is sweet. I think I've put about 13 coats on the body that I'm working on. Now just proceeding to wet sand it smooth. 2500 grit smooth. May even wind up putting a 14th coat on it. Perhaps a manifestation of OCD? But then, obsessive is probably one of the best traits in doing finish work.

Re: BYOG DAY!

Thats a gorgeous and sweet little rocker you've got there! Looks like the Precision Guitar Kits I'm building right now...

Nice rack, by the way. Much like, much want.

Re: BYOG DAY!

Awesome. I love my PGK SG Jr. I think if I do another one it'll be a DC LP Jr.

You can buy the kit direct from their website. I bought mine at a local gun shop.

My grits never went up that high. In fact after I did the grain fill using Tru-Oil's technique, all I used between coats is 0000 steel wool. I think I only did a dozen or less coats myself.

Re: BYOG DAY!

Forgot to show the hand-cut control cavity plate I made... That was rather challenging because I had to create a template. Not perfect, but its job is to protect the innards...
