That's an awesome rock machine ! I built a Precision Guitar Kits " '59 carved top" and, like you, used Tru-Oil for the ease of application. I was stumped as to what to put on my headstock too, so I had a guy make a little vinyl decal just for temporary purposes, and two years later it's still there . . .
PS - sorry for the sideways pics ; they don't display that way on my computer

That's a nice kit for sure. I see you painted your headstock. I think some models come with a veneer, but the cheaper ones like my DC did not. I'm thinking I might end up painting it afterall, but I could get a custom veneer from PGK for $100.

I actually used black dye to stain the headstock, then Tru-Oil. Looks just like paint ! I'm thinking I want to do a proper inlay of the same 'Space Invader' design, but a tiny bit smaller. I want to do one of the PGK 'V' kits as soon as I can possibly afford it, so maybe I'll get 2 inlays done at the same time. I think the Space Invader would look very cool on a V.
