I have nothing to contribute to this thread, but would like to say that I very much appreciate the good tone and helpfulness shown by most repliers here. That is not something one may take for granted with such a topic, sadly.

Dude CC is a very underrated guitarist.The best lead I have ever heard is his lead to LIFE GOES ON.Really closely listen to that lead it is so soulful and he is pouring all his emotions in to that guitar solo.You can hear the guitar actually weeping.

Randalls became really popular in the late 80's. I can't blame people for using them when you consider a lot of these guys were using modded Marshall's that were being destroyed on the road. The Randall's were very reliable and always sound the same.

These Randall SS amps(RG 100es) also cost 70% as much as the top of the line marshal models.. So they were not cheap in price or in sound quality and as stated, always reliable. I know my RG 100 has only been in the shop once in 25 years and that cost me like $80

on a side note: The guitarist for a band I worked with with in the early 90's had a crate half stack and the tone was horrid as well
