WITH FULL DISTORTION

Hails Guys
i got the C5 from KLINKDETROIT and the JAZZ NECK from BLACKROSE CUSTOMS.
aND.. i liked both on my fender, but i´m noticing that the jazz neck has more output than the C5 Bridge.
Is that somehow A common thing?!?!
the wiring is corrected. i checked it today.
Jazz neck is Tubular, solid clean tone. Heavy. and kinda mix of singing leads and sparkle lead highs tone. it´s ****ing Good to play MPB with it. i mean, brazilian music like bossa nova.
it has an almost accoustick tone.
the c5 has crushing and tight bass, Cutting and crunchy paf middles sound and the mids are searing but yet paf.
and it has some kinda "vowel/wah" sound to it.
is that common?!
and a good output too.
but i guess cc HAS more output.
and it doesn´t have that big, fat overal sound(c5)

can you help me by checking if my descriptions match the pickups tonal characteristics?!!?
it´s installed as you see in this pic ->

AH, it´s Basswood body with Burled maple cap, and maple one piece neck.
tuned to E standard.

Re: C5/JAZZ Nickel covered combo HELP.

With that combo, I like to have the C-5 raised up high, and then balance the two by lowering the Jazz till they sound balanced.

Re: C5/JAZZ Nickel covered combo HELP.

Well, JP, that is one SWEET axe! Just watch it so it won't fall into the pool, hehe.

Anyway, i made a thread just like this one about an hour ago. From the info i gathered there, and from my own experience, lowering a pickup will "soften" up the tone, whereas raising it will make it tigther and more aggressive sounding. Louder too.

EDIT: And for sticking to the subject (which i didn't really understand until now), the Jazz is supposed to sound very round, chimey, brigth and clean. Not too sure about the C5, though.

Re: C5/JAZZ Nickel covered combo HELP.

JP, your descriptions are pretty much what I hear too. BTW, I set the Jazz almost flush with the mounting ring and the C5 almost touching the strings.

WOW! Great looking guitar JP!

Re: C5/JAZZ Nickel covered combo HELP.

That guitar is absolutely beautiful!!!! I love the way it looks...and the chrome covers look great!!!!

I usually don't even like chrome covers on strats....but this looks fantastic.

Re: C5/JAZZ Nickel covered combo HELP.

Nice guitar!!! You put next to the pool on purpose didn't you?! There's just something 'right' about blue axes.

When I had the Jazz/C5 in my guitar I liked it the same way as Benjy 26: Jazz pretty low and the C5 quite close to the strings.

The C5 should have more output than the Jazz. I think what you hear is the Jazz being a loud mofo pickup.
I always liked to raise the middle polepieces of the C5 to get some more mids out of it.

Re: C5/JAZZ Nickel covered combo HELP.

Yowsa . . . That might be the coolest double-phat Strat I've seen. Its set off beautifully against the blue water also.

I may have to get one of those. :)

Re: C5/JAZZ Nickel covered combo HELP.

I have been thinking about this combo for my Agile LP. I would love to hear some clips. The agile has a 3/4" maple cap and an "ebony" fretboard (looks, sounds, and feels more like black stained rosewood). However, I wouldn't necessarily call it a "bright" guitar. Anyone put this combo in a similar guitar?

I have had it in a 74 Ibanez LP copy. The Guitar is very dark natured so, it sounded like a million dollars in it!
