I thought they all sounded more than good enough to record with and come out with a kicka$$ tone, but the GT kicked me in the face the hardest. That is one outstanding tone you have there my friend.

thanks guys i appreciate it
to me it seems like the best fit for this marshall dsl100 preamp is
v1 penta 12ax7b, v2 sovtek LPS, v3 Groove Tube 12ax7R (glorified sovtek 12ax7-wa)

its funny you guys have always been more responsive then the amp forum of the amp im using. they dont seem to care unless its old 70s rock information.
i honestly dont think as a metal player i fit with the marshall crowd, even though im using marshalls.

they're just old rock farts.

As for us, we're largely old rock farts....who care.

Because we kick assssssssssss. I don't know why people don't have a broader range of interest as they age. When I was in my teens and twenties, it was mostly hard rock and the metal of the era, or nothing else. I did love me some Al Jolson though...still do. Today, I love it all, and the metal guys like you play knocks me out. I like some hip hop, some pop, some jazz, lotsa blues, classical, The Beatles (who I always hated). There's soooo much music to enjoy, that limiting yourself to the "classic rock" sound seems like admiring a single blade of grass in a field.
