Cab Idea

I'm building a 2x12 cab and I have an idea that improves the bottom end: having a tunnel or two tunnles inside the cab that leads from behind the speakers to the front of the cab above the speakers, thus projecting the bass better. Would this work?

The Earcandy Buzzbomb cabs use two port holes, on above in between the speakers and one below in between, and they supposedly are as loud and have the bass response of a 4x12 cab.
