Cab mics: Prodipe TT1 Pro vs. Shure Beta57A vs. ShureSM57

Re: Cab mics: Prodipe TT1 Pro vs. Shure Beta57A vs. ShureSM57

These are rather simple vids. I hope the mp3 conversion did not wash off all them differences. I kinda think that they are still there but anyways...

I hope that these would be useful to somebody some time...

Best,

The 57 sounds a little rounder, but I figure that could be changed a bit with speaker placement. I'll still use a 57 on near everything. They just work great.

On my crappy laptop speakers I preferred the plane Jane SM57.

It makes a guitar sound like I expect a guitar to sound.

The TT1 Pro sounded brighter and with a wider sound field. As I prefer a warmer sound, I would pick the SM57... Although I'd probably buy a TT1 Pro anyway :D

The mics are placed symmetrically so the mic placement is NOT the reason... Just letting you guys know... And trevorus you are right, I could get the SM57 to sound with a bit more presence if I were to make it point more towards the center of the cone.

I prefer using two mics... Both a Beta57A and TT1 Pro. I think that the results quite good when used together.
